RETAIL PRECINCT
Discover a vibrant mix of boutiques, national and international brands nestled within a network of laneways and shopping hubs. Whether you're browsing for the latest trends or indulging in a bite at one of the many cafés, restaurants, or bars, the Retail Precinct is the perfect place to shop and unwind in the heart of Christchurch.
NEW REGENT QUARTER
Where Heritage Meets Vibrancy
Step into the charm of the New Regent Quarter, home to quirky boutiques, lively bars, top-tier dining, and unique accommodations. Anchored by the iconic New Regent Street, a 1930s Spanish Mission-style gem, this precinct blends history with a modern, vibrant atmosphere, making it one of the city's major tourist attractions.
SALT DISTRICT
SALT is the gritty, Southern ALTernative to the glossier city core. Laced with laneways and centred around St Asaph, Lichfield & Tuam streets, it’s a character destination where cool people with big ideas make amazing things happen.
SALT District is best explored on foot — it's just a five-minute walk across.

SOUTH TOWN
Home to a vibrant mix of boutique cafés, bars, and workspaces, this area has undergone a remarkable transformation since the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes. Driven by a passionate group of young entrepreneurs, it has become a hub of creativity and character, adding a unique charm to the city's southern district.
WESTEND
Westend hosts the heart of Christchurch's cultural being, home to the city's Art Gallery, Arts Centre, and Museum. The Arts Centre and Museum are some of the last remaining Gothic Revival buildings in the city, preserving a rich architectural and historical legacy.
PERFORMING ARTS
One of the anchor projects in the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan, the Performing Arts Precinct is being built in the block bounded by Armagh, Gloucester, Colombo and New Regent streets.
Construction began in May 2023. The Performing Arts Precinct includes the Isaac Theatre Royal, The Piano, and the Court Theatre is about to open.
